We are thrilled that the line up for the festival continues to build. Adam Taylor, fourth generation Bowen Islander, will be showcasing scuba diving around the island; Bruce McTaggart will be talking about his surf ski adventures; Baz Cardinal, one of the founders of the BIAFF, will be sharing his video of slacklining on Bowen; and we will also be showing a short film from open water swimming coach, Peter Scott, featuring swimming with sea lions. Stay tuned for more announcements at http://biaff.ca/presentations
BIAFF is forming an exciting line up of speakers and presenters. Dangerous Dan Cowan of Flowriders will be presenting a series of short films about mountain biking and the trails of Bowen Island. Former Mayor of Bowen Island Bob Turner will be presenting his kayaking trip in Howe Sound. Hobey Walker will be presenting a short slideshow on the local climbing areas of Bowen that he cleaned and bolted. Louise Loik, editor of the Undercurrent, will be putting on a slideshow about outdoor community events. These are just a few of the speakers/presenters. So much more to look forward to. Stay tuned!
We are excited by the support from the local community for their enthusiasm for the first annual Bowen Island Adventure Film Festival. Many thanks go to the Bowen Island Lodge for hosting the event and to the Bowen Island Pub and Bowen Island Sea Kayaking for donating door prizes. Thank you to the Bowen Island Roasting Company for supplying the coffee and the Bowen Beer & Wine Cellar for supplying the West Coast craft beer from Persephone. Looking forward to seeing you all at the festival. Cheers!!
